Utahns Join FARE in Recognizing Food Allergy Awareness Week

Food Allergy Research and Education (a national non-profit organization) is hosting it’s 16th annual food allergy awareness week May 11-17, 2014 and Utahns are getting involved.

In the News

Recent local news coverage examined the rising concern of life-threatening food allergies in children and adult onset of Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), which can often occur in patients who have outgrown food allergies.

Essay Contest

The Utah Food Allergy Network is hosting an essay contest where members of the the network can write about what life is like with food allergies.  Winners of the contest will receive prizes from Nut Free Wear.

Fundraising

Team Cookie has made it’s debut, announcing a fundraising event at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant in Provo.  Team Cookie also plans to spend the week visiting resident favorite local mom & pop shops to inform them about SafeFARE and solicit general donations.  More fundraising events will continue throughout the rest of Food Allergy Action Month and on leading up to the Salt Lake City FARE Walk for Food Allergies in September.

Tiffany Rogers

Tiffany is the mother of a child with multiple severe food allergies, wife of a husband with food allergy sensitivities, and manages a few allergies of her own. As Founder of Allergy Cookie, her goal is to provide you with information to simplify living with multiple food allergies and celebrate life in the process. Tiffany has served as a local Chair for the FARE Walk for Food Allergy, Community Events Director and General Board Member for the Utah Food Allergy Network, and Support Group Leader for NNMG Food Allergic Families of Utah. In addition to blogging and publishing books about living with food allergies, Tiffany shares an empowering message as a public speaker at conferences supporting the newly diagnosed and others facing challenges in the kitchen.
